State NCGOP Convention

Lee County GOP DelegationEighteen Lee County delegates attended the state GOP convention June 12-13.  We were there to support our home-town candidate, Chad Adams, who was running for state chairman.  In addition to attending the general sessions, several of the Lee County delegates attended training sessions on fundraising, new media, and candidate recruitment.

It was exciting to see the convention center filled with enthusiastic Republicans! Out of 100 counties, 97 had delegates at the convention. While our candidate lost in a close race, we were very proud of him and the campaign he ran.

The Republican Party of Lee County is committed to developing our future leaders.  At our May meeting, we awarded two student scholarships to the Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge.  The scholarship recipients were Grant Holmes and Cori Lilley.  Grant is a rising senior at Grace Christian School and Cori is a senior at Southern Lee.  Grant and Cori will attend a 5-day leadership conference at Wingate University June 21-25.  During that time, they will learn about the free enterprise system and develop leadership skills.

Monthly Attendance Growing

Since our March county convention, our monthly meetings have been well attended.  We have had 50 or more in attendance at each of our monthly meetings, with each meeting bring first-time attendees.  Our goal is to get 75 attendees at each meeting, and we are well on our way to reaching that goal!
