A crime is a crime, whether you are the perpetrator or the victim!  North Carolina District Attorneys and Law Enforcement agencies were dealt a double whammy by our state and federal governments last week.  On July 15, the North Carolina House Democrats voted for the NC Racial Justice Act which places racial quotas on the death penalty and basically places a moratorium on executions of first degree murderers.  Our representative, Jimmy Love, voted for this bill.  (click here to read our previous blog on this legislation).  Then, on July 16, Senator Hagan voted to make thoughts a crime.  It was the usual Democrat sneaky tactic to attach the hate crimes legislation as an amendment to unrelated legislation.  In this case, the original legislation was the Defense Appropriations Act. The amendment passed. Debate on the Defense Appropriation legislation will continue in the Senate this week.  We need more Senate conservatives like Jim DeMint!
