Come join us to learn about the Convention of the States
Article V of the US Constitution outlines two methods by which the Constitution may be amended. Thus far, amendments have only been pursued using one of these approaches, namely through Congressional action. This discussion will address the other approach, which is a Convention of the States. Come with an open mind and questions. The goal is to edify and allow for an open and honest discussion about the pros and cons of this process for changing the Constitution.
We highly recommend you do a little research on the topic in advance. Please bring your Constitutions or pick up a free copy at the Lee GOP offices if you don’t have one.
Always start with the source documents: U.S Constitution Article V.
You might also want to consider reading Hamilton’s writings in Federalist Papers 85, Mark Levin’s commentaries, and KrisAnne Hall’s position on this subject as starting points in your preparation for this presentation.
